One of Ryan Howard’s major concentrations this offseason and spring training needs to be fielding. He ranked 2nd for the most errors at the 1st base positionl. That is not acceptable for an All-Star player.

The new third base coach, Steve Smith, has Howard doing unusual drills.

“I’ve never done it before, but I like that drill,” Howard said. “It helps you focus, especially on your hands.”

As long as Howard keeps practicing, he can become a dominate force on the field and at the plate.
