A win over the Chicago Cubs last night put the Philadelphia Phillies in a tie with the L.A. Dodgers for first place in the NL Wild Card race. Brett Myers pitched a complete game allowing only 2 earned runs. The Phillies have Thursday off before they travel to Florida for a 3 game series with the Marlins.

Ryan Howard went 1-4 with a double. He had 1 run scored, but no RBIs. He was also intentionally walked. Howard hasn’t hit a homerun in 12 at bats. He is due for a monster series against the Marlins. While he hasn’t been tearing the cover off the ball as much lately, Howard has still raised his batting average 13 points this month to .312. He has also improved in OBP by 21 points this month to .414.
